What goes around seems to inevitably in deed, come around. The First Amendment to the US Constitution guarantees citizens the right to practice their religion. The history prompting this Amendment came from the internecine warfare and repression of emerging expressions of the established Religion in Europe. While there are places and times where and when the politics of intolerance; particularly that which leads to violence, as in Northern Ireland and post-colonial India, including the persecution of Mormans in America, have tested the viability of this Article in the Bill of (human) Rights; as a rule, America has demonstrated that the First Amendment has worked quite effectively--a lesson the Swiss could well learn from us. - Harold Pulley
