The unreasonable rejection of this very reasonable solution is primarily due to an elephant in the room which few commentators will acknowledge, viz. a pernicious brand of talmudic racism which pervades the religious strata of Israeli society, and which has filtered through to the secular levels. How else is the inhumanity of the recent Gaza genocide to be explained? For heaven's sake, even the Ashkenazim look down upon their Sephardic compatriots, in some kind of bizarre pseudo-caste consciousness. This unnaturally-constituted nation is riven by disdain for people of a different origin to the aristoi. So, when it comes to the ghettos in the occupied territories, well, these poor untermenschen are worth nothing compared to the pristine bloodlines of the ruling classes. As for Israel's satrap across the Atlantic, whose elected congress voted to condone and support Operation Cast Lead, this rogue state is notorious for the callous termination of large numbers of people with skins darker than the average Euro-settler. Having genocided the majority of their own natives, and enslaved god knows how many thousands of African souls, in recent decades they have turned their attention to murdering staggering numbers of non-caucasians on continents way, way removed from the homeland. So, no sympathy for the plight of ordinary Palestinians to be had there - barring the odd angel of mercy like Rachel Corrie. There will never be a two state solution. Not while unindicted war criminals and their Zionist proxies in Washington control the game. A one-state solution, maybe, when every last Palestinian shithole has been ethnically-cleansed and resettled by the white phosphorus gang.
